The reason we think this is Civilization 7 and not XCOM 3 is simple the Narrative Lead role requires 'knowledge and passion for world history,' which points a finger directly at a Civilization title. In November 2021, Firaxis put out some job applications, including one for a Narrative Lead to work on their next AAA strategy game. However, we know that developer Firaxis has something cooking, and it is likely not XCOM 3. There has been no official announcement about Civilization 7 yet, and no credible leaks.
